Szymborska Wislawa, who is one of the top poets of postwar Europe, never accepted the role of ‘prosperous authority’. In her acceptance speech during her Nobel Prize Award ceremony in 1996 she prefered a humble “I don’t know”, a phrase so modest but at the same time so essencial for her, since that’s where her unique ironic style, in a question mark and a quest in the creation and its reality.
